GRAPEFRUIT 🌟🍑🍋 ..FLAVONOIDS ...Say what?! I love, love, love, this sunshiney fruit ☀️

I’m SO into bioflavonoids, flavonoids, flavalones, and the many other names these antioxidants compounds fall under. This post is about healing properties that act like medicine from this food.

Grapefruit (especially white grapefruit) and grapefruit juice has a Flavanol compound called NARINGIN. You’ll want to know more about this compound, TRUST ME, it’s AWESOME 😎

Naringin found in Grapefruit is super for:
🍑Natural detoxifier for the liver
🌟 EXCELLENT for breaking down biofilms causes by Lyme disease🌟
🍑Repairing DNA damages
🍑Anticancer properties
🍑May reduce an overactive appetite
🍑May help in lung fibrosis (@repiratoryrrt)
🍑Increasing the breakdown of fats so the liver isn’t so strained
🍑Reducing negative effects from drinking alcohol
🍑Helping to lower cholesterol levels
🍑Removing calcium deposits on joints and plaques in arteries
🍑Lowering Inflammation

Grapefruit has such powerful compounds that it will COMPETE with some functions of certain medications. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that this food can be used as medicine, but if you’re on a specific medicine, you’ll need to take it several hours apart of any grapefruit. Here are a few common medications that compete with grapefruit for absorption:
💊Cholesterol lowering meds such as statins - (Lipitor)
💊Allergy meds like fexofenadine (Allegra)
💊Blood pressure meds (like Procardia)
💊Corticosteriod meds like budesonide (a IBD med)
....this list is not exclusive! Always check with your medical doctor first, and that’s not me 😘💁🏼‍♀️.
